How to Fix Not a valid Win32 Application

Posted on 04:53 by Unknown
This post provides Computer Support to fix win 32 application error,

This issue can be caused by any of the below possibilities.

1. File is corrupt, bad, or missing.
2. File is not designed for your version of Windows.
3. File is a virus, worm, or other malware file.
4. Hardware incompatibility.

Solution

If the file or program you're attempting to run is corrupt or missing, Windows will be unable to execute the file properly and sometimes generate this error message.

Download files

If you downloaded this file and verified it is complete and compatible with your version of Windows, delete the file and try downloading and running it again. It's possible during the download that the file became corrupted.

Finally, if the second download does not work, try downloading the file from a different webpage. It is possible that the person or company maintaining the website mistakenly uploaded a corrupt version of the file you're attempting download.

Installing a program from a CD or other disk

If you're attempting to install a program and are getting this error, verify that the CD is clean. If the CD is dirty or bad, you could get this error during the install and/or get this error after the program has been installed because it was not copied properly onto the computer.

Additional information about cleaning a CD can be found on our cleaning page.

Running a program from the computer

If you're running the program from a shortcut on the computer, verify that the program is still on the computer. In some cases if the program is no longer installed on the computer you may get this error.

If the hard disk drive is corrupted or bad it can also cause working programs to fail either because not all the data can be read from the hard disk drive or because the program has become corrupted while on the drive. Run scandisk and defrag on the hard disk drive to check for any potential errors.

Long file name issue

Make sure the program or file you're attempting to run does not contain the same name as the long file name directory it is contained in. For example, executing a file named "program" in the "program files" directory can cause errors in some versions of Windows.

Additionally, if you're attempting to install a program and after the install the program does not work, you may also want to try installing the program in a different directory.

Bad file

Any file can be changed or renamed to be a .exe file. If you're downloading the file, make sure the file is supposed to be a .exe file and that it's not being changed. If you're attempting to create a .exe, file make sure you're compiling the file for Windows and never just rename a file to a .exe file. For example, renaming a .bat file to a .exe file will not make the file an executable file. For a file to become an executable file it needs to either be compiled or converted through a software program designed to convert the file.

How to speed up your system with the best computer support?

Posted on 09:20 by Unknown
It is a general notion that people like computers with good processing speed. The same is the case with me. I want my computer to show its best performance without any technical support. One day, while surfing the Internet, I got to know about some of the factors instrumental in slowing down the performance of any system and the best computer repair to opt for.

There is an unending list of computer support providers available on the Internet, which promise to offer the best in class computer support for any made and model of computers. In my belief the best computer support is the one, which is capable of diagnosing and fixing any technical problem with the system like installing and uninstalling software applications, device drivers, troubleshooting software and hardware issues and make it faster and more productive. It should at least show the level of capability for which it is capable of. If your computer is unable to deliver as per its prescribed capability then no one will prefer the computer for further use.

In case of any technical problem related to my PC, I would prefer to run to the computer manufacturer's service center for finding the best solution. When I heard of remote computer support providers, which cut down the need to carry your PC anywhere and provide you with an effective online solution to all the technical issues related to your PC and all the peripherals attached to the computer, irrespective of their make and model, it was very difficult to accept, but practically analyzing this mode of computer support, I found it to be very beneficial service for a computer user.

There are numerous reasons for the improper functioning of a system and technical issues, like hard disk crash, system slowdown, registry corruption, Blue screen of death, and uneven system freezing etc.

The choice of a computer support provider decides the performance and speed of your computer. The correct choice can make your computer to speed up and show its complete potential irrespective of any error.

A new PC is a joy because it is fast and able which makes it fun to use. Over time, that PC gets slower and slower and can eventually become a assignment to operate. There are accomplish you can yield to restore some of that "new PC" performance.

Get Organized

Print these accomplish for a PC tune-up checklist. Make addendum as you go; it'll be easier to get abetment if you charge it. Reserve abundant time. Review the Related Links for added data on some of these steps. Follow these accomplish in order, area practical. {Click sequences are apparent for Windows XP Professional and are alone meant to be a accepted guide}.

Make Some Backups

You charge a abatement aback position in case bad things happen. Actualize a windows xp restore point. Accede saving: Email files and annual settings, desktop and favorites, My Documents, added files? You've been acceptation to advancement anyhow, haven't you?

Add Memory

De-program

Uninstall added programs. A new PC comes with audience software and freebies that are hardly used. Then we add programs that we end up not using. Sometimes a adapted accession block in added software we don't need/want. Yahoo, Adobe, and others generally blooper things accomplished the accidental installer.

Uninstalling programs will balance space, and as a bonus, may aswell chargeless up some operating assets and acceleration things up. {Start -> Control Panel -> Add or abolish Programs}

Google vs. Microsoft’s Bing

Posted on 22:19 by Unknown

Microsoft has made its new search engine, Bing, publicly available. The new search engine against Google. Bing has already replaced Live search and msn.com.

Bing is new design, along with a new name, is intended to make its technology more user friendly in the face of stiff competition and limited market share.

How Microsoft’s Bing is different from Google -

- Searches for videos return clips that can be watched by simply moving your mouse over the results.

- Travel related searches like "San Francisco to Miami flights" returns a ticket price at the top of the results.

- People can get cash back when they buy products from certain merchants that have a Bing symbol displayed next to their links.

- A list of related searches in the upper left hand side of the results page (Google places them at the bottom).

Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's CEO, has cautioned that the search landscape isn't going to change immediately, but rather evolve over several years. So don't count on hearing people using Bing as a verb, as in "Bing it," like you do with Google.

Renaming its search engine Bing is intended to help Microsoft with its branding, which even its executives admit, was lacking. Live Search, as its search engine was previously called never caught on and got lost in a mix of other Microsoft Live products.

Google, in Mountain View, dominates the search industry with 64.2 percent in April, followed by Yahoo at 20.4 percent and then Microsoft, in a distant third, at 8.2 percent, according to comScore.

Google Australia launches new services

Posted on 01:03 by Unknown

Google Australia has announced a range of new services, including free access to Fairfax newspapers dating back to the late 1800s.

The search engine will allow users to browse digital copies of newspapers including The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, which will appear online exactly as they were first printed.

"Newspapers are a trusted source of information, but in many cases this information has been locked away, and only accessible through microfilm," Google Australia and New Zealand general manager Karim Temsamani said.

"This is a great example of how technology and news media can work together to benefit all Australians."

Google also said it would make available timetables for Sydney's light rail and monorail, and Canberra's buses on Google Maps from June.

Users will be able to plan their trips from listings of departure times and route information.

The new services are a sign of the rapid development of Google Australia since 2002, when Kate Vale - now head of YouTube - was its single employee working from home.

The search engine will also launch its new communication program, Google Wave, at the end of the month.

"It's a mixture of email, instant message and YouTube. It's a whole new approach to online conversations," said Google Australia's head of engineering Alan Noble.

The launch has coincided with the official opening on Monday of Google Australia's new offices in Pyrmont, by Governor-General Quentin Bryce.

"It's a fabulous, exciting design, at the heart of this vibrant and much loved Australian city," she said.

"I thank (Google) for its outstanding contribution to Australia's economy, culture and progress."

New and better - Firefox 3.5

Posted on 23:36 by Unknown

Over the last year or so, Firefox has become better known in tech savvy circles for its relatively poor performance and mediocre memory management. Chrome's insane speed and Internet Explorer 8's overall improvement have also dinged Firefox's reputation. But now, Firefox 3.5 is almost ready to go.

I downloaded the latest beta, Firefox 3.5 beta 4, to explore it for myself. I used it on two different PCs. The first was my workhouse Windows XP SP2 system, and the other was my Dell laptop. The XP box was a Dell Inspiron 530S with a 2.2-GHz Intel Pentium E2200 dual-core processor, 4GBs of RAM, a 500GB SATA drive and an Integrated Intel 3100 GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator). For laptop, I used a Gateway GT5622 desktop with a 1.8GHz Intel Pentium E2160 dual-core CPU, 3GBs of RAM, a 400GB SATA drive, and an Intel 950 GMA.

On both systems, installing the browser took less than three minutes. Once installed, I found that my two must-have Firefox extensions the Google Toolbar and XMarks were both working.

However, on Windows, I found that two other extensions were DOA. These were the AVG Safe Search 8.5 malware detector and the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.0. I wasn't too surprised by either one. The AVG program has had issues with other versions of Firefox and the .NET Framework program has always been a pain.

Unlike Google Chrome, Firefox has a mature family of extensions. I really like Chrome a lot, but it's still taking baby steps when it comes to using extensions for added functionality.

Where Chrome still zooms by Firefox is when it comes to rendering speed. That's especially true when it comes to JavaScript-heavy pages. Firefox 3.5's TraceMonkey JavaScript rendering engine is much faster than what you'll find in the Firefox 3.0 series and Internet Explorer doesn't belong in the performance conversation.

Still Chrome 2.0's V8 JavaScript engine beats TraceMonkey handily. Using the SunSpider JavaScript Benchmark on the Microsoft windows xp system, Firefox 3.5 was almost twice as slow as Chrome 2.0 at the benchmark with a recorded time of 1,225.6-millisecond to Chrome 2.0's 704.0. If speed is what matters the most to you, Chrome is the browser for you.

On the other hand, after running Firefox for days and with multiple windows and tabs, I found that on both Windows and Linux, Firefox is finally not hogging memory. Even with the debugging code that must be in a beta, I found that Firefox is no longer leaking memory. That's good for both the browser's stability and its security.

Firefox now supports embedded Ogg and WAV video and audio format without the need for a helper program. It also far better privacy settings so you can use your own, or any other, computer without leaving any traces behind of what you've been doing.

Windows 7’s Price is possibly an obstacle - DELL

Posted on 01:35 by Unknown

Windows 7 pricing is a possibly a barrier for some users, though in just about every other aspect the operating system is beating Vista."If there's one thing that may influence adoption, make things slower or cause customers to pause, it's that generally the ASPs (average selling price) of the operating systems are higher than they were for Vista and XP," Darrel Ward, director of product management for Dell's business client product group, said in a phone interview, referring to the various versions of the Windows 7 operating system that are expected to appear.

Ward continued. "In tough economic times, I think it's naive to believe that you can increase your prices on average and then still see a strong swell than if you held prices flat or even lowered them. I can tell you that the licensing tiers at retail are more expensive than they were for Vista. Windows 7 Professional is expected to be more expensive than Windows Vista Business, the version that Professional is replacing, he said. He also mentioned, "Schools and government agencies may not be able to afford (the additional cost). Some of the smaller businesses may not be able to enjoy the software as soon as they'd like".

Pricing aside, Ward said momentum behind Windows 7 is big compared with Vista. "When Vista came out we didn't have the motivation to do the types of services that we're doing now. We didn't have the clear customer demand for such services," he said. "We do have a visible number of customers, large and small, who are actually waiting for Windows 7 and who have already put plans in place to target the transition to Windows 7, they're asking Dell for help. That demand and this opportunity is stronger than it has been in the past," Ward said.

And Dell is already getting its service organization in gear for Windows 7. "Our professional service organization is beginning to structure service offerings specifically designed to help customers migrate their images, their applications, and their management infrastructure, security capabilities and so forth."

More than half of Dell's business customers are still using Windows XP and these customers will eventually have to upgrade, according to Ward. "XP cannot live forever," he said.

To help users migrate from XP to Windows 7, Dell supports the upcoming operating system's XP mode. "It's one of the things that Microsoft is doing that we think is helpful. Putting an instance of XP virtual machine in the higher end SKUs (models). This is another alternative for compatibility. We'll fully support that in our product and consulting services." he said.

Driver readiness is good, with some exceptions. "Driver readiness--it looks pretty healthy compared to the past. (There are) some things that haven't been worked out. The WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Lab) drivers for AMT VPRO is a little behind," he said, referring to Intel's Active Management Technology, which allows remote access to PCs for security, maintenance, and management.

Generally, however, Windows 7 is much further along than Vista was at this stage, he said. "But if you look at the ecosystem enabling for Windows 7, it is much further along that it was at the same time for Vista," he said.
