Tips to Computer Optimization

Posted on 02:18 by Unknown
Computer optimization is all about maintaining your system so that it works fast with less hardware resources. Generally, a computer may be optimized so that it executes commands more quickly.
Computer optimization is not new for us but there are people who lack this knowledge. In this article we have mentioned some of the methods to enhance system performance. It is found that most of us use certain kind of tools to tune up system performance. However, we like to tell you certain ways of Windows 7 computer optimization which you can do by yourself without any external tool.

1. Users always look at speeding up boot time and usually you can do this by minimizing the number of startup programs that load every-time Windows boot. You can access the list of startup programs by clicking on ‘Start’ then typing ‘msconfig’ into the search box. Now click on the Startup tab and uncheck those programs that you would prefer not to run during startup.

2. I you have a low capacity hard drives that is running without reformatting from a long time then the hard drive will take long time in Windows 7 installation Most of the users frequently install new software but never paid attention about removing the previously installed or unused software.

3. You can also go to add-remove programs and uninstall everything that is not necessary and any program trials that you will not be subscribing to.

4. What we personally believe that shutting down the computer every night is best option to get more from your computer. People always argue that turning a computer on and off constantly is harder on the hard drive. However according to hard drive manufacturers; it is not true with today’s hard drives.

5. When you are continuously installing and uninstalling programs, a hard drive will leave pieces of those programs in different places throughout the entire drive. When the user wants to use a specific program, the hard drive will search for different locations to access that information thus creating a longer wait time. To solve this issue, a hard drive should be defragmented fairly often.

How to Solve Common Computer Problems?

Posted on 22:01 by Unknown
There are several kind of common computer problems, you may experience while working at home or in office.

There are variety of common computer problems, can occur including in any operating system:

• Blue screens. These are typically occur due to hardware failure or driver problems but can also be due to virus infection.
•
• Computer Hangs. These are typically caused by incompatible or fake drivers or by registry corruption but can also be due to virus or spams.
•
• Dialog box saying "One or more services failed to start". This is typically caused by misconfiguration or registry corruption but can also be caused by application incompatibility of some form.
Tips to fix common computer problems?
Microsoft offers several tools to resolve common computer problems like the ones mentioned above.

Last Known Good Configuration
• Last Known Good Configuration: Choosing Last Known Good Configuration provides a opportunity to to recover from issues such as a newly added driver that may not good for your hardware. It does not fix problems with computercaused by corrupted or missing drivers or files.
• When you choose Last Known Good Configuration, only the information in registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet is restored. Any changes you have made in other registry keys remain.
• NUM LOCK must be off before the arrow keys on the numeric keypad will function.

Safe Mode
• Running safe mode, you have access to only basic files and drivers (mouse, monitor, keyboard, mass storage, base video, default system services, and no network connections). You can pick the Safe Mode with Networking option, which loads all of the above files and drivers and the essential services and drivers to start networking, or you can choose the Safe Mode with Command Prompt option, which is exactly the same as safe mode except that a command prompt is started instead of the graphical user interface.

• Safe mode helps you diagnose problems. If a symptom does not reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and minimum device drivers as possible causes. If a newly added device or a changed driver is causing problems, you can use safe mode to remove the device or reverse the change.

• There are circumstances where safe mode will not be able to help you, such as when Windows system files that are required to start the system are corrupted or damaged. In this case, the Recovery Console may help you.

System Restore. Windows XP only feature to restore system to previously saved configuration.
Automated System Recovery (ASR). Restores the boot volume from backup.

System Repair. Run Windows Setup from your installation CD and select the option to try and repair your operating system.

Three Ways to Upgrade Your Windows XP Computer to Windows 7

Posted on 03:37 by Unknown
Migrating from Windows XP to Microsoft Windows 7 isn’t easy because Microsoft has only built a migration path from Vista to Windows 7. Microsoft is expecting that most of the XP users are going to to replace their older Windows XP PCs with Windows 7 computers but for this your PC or laptop must have the hardware requirements to run Windows 7 on it.

There are some different methods to get to Windows 7 without buying an entirely new PC.
Use the User State Migration Tool:

This is an application developed by Microsoft so that you can migrate your user profile from Windows XP to Microsoft Windows 7 installation. But beware because this is a anticipated tool. To see how to upgrade PC using this User State Migration Tool, you can watch a 12 minute video on TechNet that explains the steps exactly.

Use Windows Easy Transfer:
Using Windows Easy Transfer you can copy files and settings from one computer to another, but this applications does not allows you to copy files from one installation of Windows to another on the same PC. Microsoft has designed a new application that allows you to use Easy Transfer to upgrade in-place on the same computer and they have explained this process in a five minute video.

Use a LapLink cable:
You can also use a $20 cable in-place of using any upgradation application. This is same as that of Microsoft’s Windows Easy Transfer approach.
